About us

University Centre West Anglia (UcWA) offers an increasing range of higher education courses including degrees, foundation degrees, diplomas, apprenticeships and HTQs.

We are based at the College of West Anglia, one of the largest providers of education and training in Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, working with our partners, Anglia Ruskin University, University of Huddersfield and The Open University, to offer higher education courses.

So, why choose UcWA?

At UcWA, everybody counts, and success is obtainable. The compact nature of the college’s campus ensures that our students receive unprecedented support from tutors and have the opportunity to form firm friendships with other learners, something which is not always easy in a larger university.

What makes us different

There are many benefits to studying at UcWA:

  • Exceptional levels of lecturer access and support with small class sizes and one-to-one contact time
  • We achieve great results, with over 80% graduates (2020 - 2022) achieving "Good" degree (ARU accredited) outcomes
  • Modern facilities
  • Well-appointed Learning Resource Centre and social spaces
  • Live at home and spend less on travel and accommodation
  • Links with local employers
  • Childcare available on-site
  • More opportunity to work alongside study
  • Excellent levels of overall student satisfaction.
  • Awarded the national Quality in Careers Standard for our careers education, information, advice and guidance provision.

Here at UcWA we offer high levels of personal support, flexible study is a key feature of what we offer. If you do not feel ready to launch straight in to higher level study, then we offer a range of one-year Access to Higher Education courses designed to prepare you for the challenge ahead.

"My memories of my time at UcWA are filled with lots of laughter, lots of conversation with great people and great practitioners who I'm happy to have graduated alongside today. My time at UcWA heavily benefited my current role as a teaching assistant because I now can encompass many of the different factors about child theory into my day-to-day routine."
